Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone.  This is one of my favorite days of the year, today you can be anything or anyone you want to be and it is OK.  I don't decorate or dress up for Halloween like I used to but it is still a fun day.

Class at the Senior Circle was fun yesterday and everyone seemed to accomplish a lot of what they were working on. Next week we will be back to the day planner and I think most everyone will complete that.  For the remainder of the year I think we will just meet and work on projects everyone is trying to finish and not start a new album until the first of 2014. WOW! What happened to 2013?

Today I will be working on finishing the football album I have started and hopefully complete it.

Happy Tuesday!

It's been over a week since I last posted but what a crazy week.  We went to Lajitas, TX on the trike for the weekend of the 18-20 with a few of our friends. Then back home to get ready for the papercrafting class I teach on Wed. at the Senior Circle. Then home to get ready for the weekend retreat at Black River, it was 25-27.

At Black River I worked on a football album for a friend in Odessa, her son plays for the Giants in one of the elementary schools there.  They have a banquet at the end of the season with a silent auction and she wanted an album for that.  The album turned out really cute, I will post pictures after she sees it for the first time.

We had a great weekend retreat at Black River, I completed as much of the football album as possible while helping some friends complete a complicated album they were wanting to make. All three did an awesome job.  I can't wait to see how they decorate and embellish their albums. 

I hope to post again soon but for now I need to get ready for my class tomorrow. If anyone is interested, I teach a papercrafting class every Wed. 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Senior Circle on Bonita St.  We make albums, learn new techniques, how to use tools and other things in the papercrafting world.

Creative Chemistry by Tim Holtz

I finished all of the tags for CC 102 but I don't have pictures yet.  I will post the rest when I get all of the pictures taken and downloaded.  I just want to say that Tim Holtz's CC 101 and CC 102 are great classes.  Once you sign up for either one or both you can download everything including the videos and you have lifetime access to the classes on-line. You learn new techniques, most of which pushed me out of my comfort zone, and learn new ways to use products you probably already have.  I love the new techniques and will be incorporating some of them into my albums.  I have so many ideas  rushing around in my head, it's hard to focus on just one.

I hope you consider taking one or both of these classes.

Creative Chemistry 102 Day 1 Tags

I haven't posted like I was intending to, there has been too much going on and I am not finished with all of the tags, but I wanted to post some close-ups of Day 1 tags.

I really have enjoyed learning all of the new techniques. Hopefully there will be a CC103 in the future.

This is a technique that I love. I never would have used all of these products together if not for CC102.

 

Love the look of this and will probably use this technique in some of my albums. This will make a wonderful background.

I can't wait to try this on some of the journaling booklets I put in my albums.  I think this is awesome.

This is probably my favorite technique for Day 1.  I can see so many uses for this. My mind is just running wild.

Well..... it's been a while.  I am going to get back to posting so everyone can see what I have been up to.  I have been busy trying to get the store redone since the move, I am now located at R659 Old Cavern Hwy., phone 575-706-3447 (I am still open for business just not finished rearranging yet), I am trying to learn how to use my new camcorder so I can upload instructional videos to You Tube. Oh yeah, and trying to get a You Tube channel set up.  I thought I was pretty computer savvy but this experience has really changed my mind.

I have been teaching classes at Senior Circle (this is a program of Carlsbad Medical Center) on album making. This first class is a basic album making class. I really enjoy teaching and everyone  seems to enjoy the classes. We took last Wed. off since 4 of 6 in the class were out of town or out of pocket, but we will meet on Wed. 8/14 from 9 am to 1 pm.  This is going to be an on-going class held every Wed. at the Senior Circle (the corner of 8th and Bonita) if you are interested please drop by, give me a call or send me an e-mail.

This is the album we are making in this class using Bo Bunny's Isabella paper collection.

 

 

Once we finish this album the next class will be using the remaining paper to make a second album. It will be a matchbook style.  I am trying to teach different methods each new album we make.

I had no idea it has been so long since I last posted anything here. WOW!!!

I just want to let everyone know that I have moved the store, I am no longer located at 121 S. Canal, Ste. B.  The new address is R659 Old Cavern Hwy., still Carlsbad, NM 88220, still 575-706-3447.  I am still in the process of getting everything set back up, so technically I am not open for business yet.  However, if you need anything, please give me a call, I know where everything is located and I am still ordering if you need anything.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I did not realize it has been over a month since I last posted.  I have had a sinus infection and been working on tax stuff.  I still have pictures to post from CHA and will get that done soon.

California here I come!!!

I will be leaving Carlsbad about noon today headed to El Paso.  Tomorrow morning I will board my flight to Anaheim and CHA.  I am so excited to get there and take some of the workshops and classes offered.  My first workshop is Ranger's World of Distress (Tim Holtz is the instructor) and it looks like we will be working with his new Distress Paints and other new products.  I am taking a lot of classes some business and others are workshops with We R Memory Keepers, Fiskars, Hero Arts, Earth Spirits, Judikins, Creative Imaginations, Master Color Labs, etc.  Can I say EXCITED!!

I hope everyone has a great week!  I will be back at the store on Wed. 1/16 regular hours.  Which leads to I have started talking with some people about finding a location for a bigger store, when I return I will be spending a lot of time doing this, so hopefully soon I will be moving.  YEAH!!!
